Expanding the world and its economy
Parallel design and rendering work deepened Sovereign's economy, unit presentation, terrain, water, structures, and large-scale world view.
The project widened on several fronts at once. Economic design and unit presentation became more concrete while the visual pipeline pushed terrain, water, structures, and the global view toward a world that could support actual play rather than a collection of demonstrations.
What changed
- The economy and the way units should read on the world became clearer.
- Terrain, water, lighting, and structures advanced through parallel experiments.
- The rendered world became more legible across strategic viewing distances.
Next
The next step was to test movement and encounters directly, close remaining visual handoffs, and begin a second design pass informed by what the prototypes had revealed.
